Nokia N96 vs newly released iPhone
Currently, as we all wait for the Nokia N96 to be released, I think we can smile with some self assurance that the launch of the latest iPhone had so many teething problems.
The launch of Apple’s much-anticipated new iPhone turned into an information-technology meltdown as customers were unable to get their phones working.
“It’s such grief and aggravation,” said Frederick Smalls, an insurance broker in Whitman, Massachusetts, after spending two hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T Inc., trying to get his new iPhone to work.

I laughed because we all know there will be no such teething problems with the launch of the Nokia N96. As a Nokia supporter I do find it quite frustrating that the iPhone gathers so much unqualified support. For example, almost all the “cool” features that this latest version of the iPhone has, the trusty Nokia N95 has had since day 1. However, I’m not here to iPhone bash, and plenty of people have already taken a look at the Nokia N96 vs iPhone argument. Some articles worth reading are here :

In summary, both phones have their cool features and everyone will have their own personal preferences. For me one of the biggest downfalls of the new iPhone remains it’s camera - it surprises me that they haven’t increased the spec on that in an age where more and more people are leaving their camera at home and using their phone to take photos. Upcoming releases such as the Sony Ericsson C905 - featuring an 8.1 Megapixel camera - will push this requirement even further. Along those lines, I feel it is a shame that the N96 doesn’t include a proper Xenon flash, but I’m hopeful the new dual LED will at least light up night time photos a lot better, and that perhaps any revised versions that come out may have a Xenon flash incorporated.
While the iPhone is the media darling, here in the UK you only need to walk down the street to see that in the current market the Nokia N95 is the clear winner by a huge mile in terms of users. Undoubtedly one of the reasons for this is the ability for the N95 to be used on any network and by both contract and pay as you go users (if they don’t mind paying the full phone price). I am sure that it will be the same with the Nokia N96. iPhone has the “cool” appeal, but the Nokia N96 is the phone that can do more and that more people are able to get their hands on.
