I've had the N96 (International version I guess it is) for a couple weeks now. I've already commented on the battery life on a different thread.

The first thing I did was to slap the 8gb expansion card in, giving me a total of 24gbs of storage. Great, let's start loading it up with pics and music !
First went my preferred MP3 ringtone. No problem. Then an additional 1,971 MP3s. Then almost 2,300 pics. Lots of space.

Then the problems starting cropping up. I wasn't expecting the music player to take 20+ minutes to populate the library with the files I had uploaded. Despite my effort to ensure all my songs are named/filed in the same format, the system refuses to recognize some of the titles and album names.

I have no idea why, but after uploading those MP3s, suddenly I had no volume when receiving an incoming call. I checked everything. Tried changing to a default ring-tone, checked volume and ring-tone settings. Still no luck. Finally got upset and deleted all buy my favourite MP3 and bingo ! Phone (ringing) volume returned to normal.
(What was odd, was that if I previewed a song/ring tone, I could hear it at normal volume. If I played the same song in the music player, volume was normal. But when I set it to be the ring-tone, I could barely hear it with the speaker jammed in my ear).

Photos. The first couple of pics worked normally. I could review them, save/delete, etc.
Then I uploaded a couple thousand normal pics from my computer. Again, I have them saved in seperate folders (i.e. Pyramids, or Hungary, or Harley). I guess the OS doesn't like that though.
When I go to view the pics, it tells me there are no "albums". I have to select "All", which then starts showing me the first 15 little thumbnail pics (out of the 2,290 I've uploaded).
Trying to scroll through to get to the ones I want is a royal pain in the butt.
The next problem I had, was that it would no longer show me any of the "Captured Pics" I had taken with the camera. I couldn't review it after taking the pic, nor when I used the photo viewer.
I took half a dozen as a test, and the camera said there were none stored (anywhere).
Plugged into the computer, and the computer showed the pics being there. Turned the phone off/on, tried again, same thing. No "captured" pics.

I was getting a little miffed by all this, and finally at one point went into the settings and reset to factory defaults. I hadn't changed any settings previously (other than the ring tone, date and time) so resetting to default wasn't too much of a concern.
Surprisingly, my "captured" pics were now visible for review after taking them, and showed up in the photo viewer.
Actually, it was after resetting to factory default that my ringtone started working properly as well.
Guess I'll have to spend a couple hours uploading everything again and see what happens.

I do notice from time to time, when playing a N-Gage game, that the system seems to "bog down" (despite nothing else being used at the time)and the game looks like it is in "slow motion" mode. Sometimes, calling up the main menu, then closing it and resuming the game seems to get it back to normal.

The biggest problem I'm having now is keeping the screen clean. Any little bit of oil or sweat smears across the screen and I've been trying to be very careful about cleaning it so as not to scratch the glass.

I still have some playing around to do with this, and I miss the Qwerty keyboard and touch screen my previous phone had, but I guess I'll have to live without for the foreseeable future. Maybe the next version Nokia puts out will have those features.
